Day of Birth Calculator:

My Dad's old project using BASIC on Grundy NewBrain computer

My father is a retired engineer who previously worked with the Grundy NewBrain computer (as shown in the image below);

The first program he wrote on the NewBrain—and taught in school—was a day-of-birth calculator. Users would enter their date of birth, and the program would calculate the day of the week they were born. Nowadays, this is quite easy; one can write a few lines of Python code or simply use a mobile phone's calendar to determine it. However, back then, this was an impressive computer program written on an 8-bit Zilog Z80A @ 4 MHz CPU using the BASIC programming language. I am proud to share this page on my personal website that recreates a simpler HTML implementation of his first computer program.

Below is a photo of my father's office, a true engineer's workspace where he pursues his passion for electrical and electronic engineering! As a child, I had a lot of fun exploring his office and lab!
